The raid on Big Neck's village

This is the Chapter 4 header illustration for the Notable Missourian book on Great Walker to be published by Truman State University Press.  Great Walker refused to relocate with the rest of the tribe per the treaty they had signed.  He and a band of followers stayed on ancestral land and he began to go by the name Big Neck. His band got into several skirmishes with local settlers which finally boiled over when a militia was organized to raid his village.
